Sound of Torture
Every month 4000 people flee the repressive regime of Eritrea. When Europe strengthens its border control the flow changes course towards Israel. On the way, thousands are kidnapped by Bedouins in the Sinai desert, where they are held for ransom and tortured. Swedish-Eritrean Meron Estefanos communicates the tragedy in a radio show where she talks to the victims on the phone from captivity, until one day she decides to travel to meet victims and perpetrators face to face.
Meet participant Meron Estefanos at the screening September 29.
