Forest of the Dancing Spirits
Akaya and Kengole are a young couple from the Aka people, a tribe that still lives in harmony with nature in the Congolese rainforest. The film follows Akaya, Kengole and the rest of the Aka tribe for seven years, showing us both personal drama and daily routines within the tribe, while at the same time letting us know that outer threats in the form of rival tribes and modern civilization are closing in. The Aka are extremely spiritual, and we learn how they face life, death, lust and sorrow with the help of their ancient, spiritual religion.
