DAWN takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the water supply has been contaminated and civilized society has collapsed. Through a mighty, strange and barren landscape we follow two figures who eye each other with the same suspicion as they contemplate their inhospitable surroundings. Told with two actors, sparse dialogue and hauntingly hypnotic cinematography, DAWN is highly atypical of Norwegian cinema. With his masters project from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, Anders Elsrud Hultgreen has made what can only be described as the most artistically ambitious Norwegian sci-fi film ever.
