Eisenstein in Guanajuato
In 1931, Soviet director Sergei Eisenstein travels to Mexico to make his new film. In the small town of Guanajuato, he feels drawn towards both Mexican culture and his male guide Cañedo. During a ten day stay, Eisenstein acquires new perspectives on life, death, culture and sexuality. With EISENSTEIN IN GUANAJUATO master director Peter Greenaway offers a daring and entertaining portrayal of the eccentric and influental filmmaker's voyage to Mexico.
