Ice and the Sky
From the Oscar winning director of MARCH OF THE PENGUINS comes a new documentary from Antarctica. This time around director Luc Jacquet has travelled to the South pole with scientist Claude Lorius, who on his fist trip to Antarctica in 1955 discovered that samples from the ancient layers of snow and ice could be used to learn how humanity has made an impact on our planet's climate throughout history. With ICE AND THE SKY Jacquet tells the story of Lorius' life and the history of climate research, urging the viewers to take action to prevent an on-going catastrophe.
Luc Jacquet (France, 1967). Selected filmography: ONCE UPON A FOREST (2013), THE FOX AND THE CHILD (2007), MARCH OF THE PENGUINS (2005).
