Tell Spring Not to Come This Year
In 2014 the Afghan National Army (ANA) faced its first year fighting the Taliban without the aid of NATO forces. In TELL SPRING NOT TO COME THIS YEAR directors Saeed Taji Farouky and Michael McEvoy follow a company of the ANA soldiers during a year on the frontlines of the Helmand province, and in doing so they provide unique insight into the lives of the Afghan soldiers. Through candid interviews and footage of both frontline combat and uneventful downtime, this documentary captures the human side of the conflict - focusing on the soldiers' hopes and fears and their motives for fighting.
