God isn’t dead. He’s just retired to a dimly lit appartment in Brussels, where he resides with his wife the Goddess and ten year old daughter Ea. Here the Lord spends his time torturing humanity by making sure people always end up in the slowest queue and making it a law of nature that toast always land with the jam-side down. Tired of watching her father’s petty games, Ea sends out a text message that tells everyone on earth when they will die, before she sets out into the world to gather a group of disciples to write a new and better testament. Irreverent and inventive, Jaco van Dormael’s THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT is a highly entertaining satire in the vein of Michel Gondry and Terry Gilliam.
