One day 20-year-old Elodie disappears without warning from her peaceful life in the Belgian countryside. Later the police tell her mother Elisabeth that she has left to join ISIS and fight jihad in Syria. Elisabeth cannot understand what has motivated her daughter to fight in a war that does not concern her, nor can she accept her decision. And as the authorities aren't doing anything to bring her back, she takes the matter into her own hands and journeys to Syria in search of answers.
