The War Show
In 2011 Syrian radio DJ Obdaidah Zytoon and her friends are swept by The Arab Spring and the popular Syrian uprising. As they take to the streets to protest against president Assad, they document their experiences. As they witness their country spiral into a brutal civil war which will change their lives forever, their friendship is tested by imprisonment, violence and death. THE WAR SHOW brings us a mosaic of real-life experiences and personal stories from a country collapsing in real time.
Festival Guest: Director Obaidah Zytoon
THE WAR SHOW will open the human rights programme Checkpoints Thursday 22. September at 18:00.
