13-year-old Ava is on holiday by the sea when she discovers that she is gradually losing her sight and will at one point turn blind. Initially brought down by the news, she eventually decides that her fading eyesight demands that she must see and experience as much as possible before it is too late. And alongside her new friend Juan, she spends the summer embracing her senses and expanding her horizons. Filled to the brim with life-affirming drama, absurdist humour and lush imagery, AVA is a stunning debut from director Léa Mysius.
