Following the death of her mother, semi-successful painter Petra takes a residency with an internationally acclaimed artist whom she suspects to be her biological father. However, the better she gets to know him, the more she wishes for there not to be any relation between them. A family drama with the nerve and plot twists of a thriller – and more than a hint of Greek tragedy – PETRA is an engaging film anchored by a series of precise performances and the elegant and innovative choices of director Jaime Rosales.
PETRA is in our main competition programme for international fiction, Cinema Extraordinaire.
