When punk came out

In the 1980s, two young Canadian men had had enough of the punk’s increasingly macho and homophobic tendencies. They wanted to recreate the genre in their own image, and started making experimental films, fanzines and records, which soon made their way around the world. Little did they know they were laying the foundations of the radical subculture known as queercore. This documentary tells the story of the movement, bringing together fascinating archival footage and new interviews with central figures such as Genesis P-Orridge, John Waters and Kathleen Hanna.
