Lukas, an interpreter on an OSCE mission, becomes lost in southern Ukraine. After being robbed of his possessions he encounters an old man and his daughter who offer him help – but not without certain return favours. He is soon embroiled in a series of strange encounters and bizarre situations that include a money-making scheme to sell the bones of dead German soldiers from WW2. Roman Bondarchuk’s debut feature is a tragicomedy about the war-weary people of Crimea and the lengths they will go to in order to endure.
