Single mother Lára has been granted an internship at the Icelandic border police. This is a much needed break in a troublesome existence, and if she lands this job it will mean the world to both her and her son Eldar. Meanwhile, Guinea-Bissauian refugee Adja arrives en route to Canada to reunite with her family, but is stranded in juridical limbo due to problems with her papers. The meeting between these two women will change their lives forever. The frozen and unforgiving Icelandic landscape is a perfect backdrop for this unsentimental drama, which will melt even the coldest of hearts.
Isold Uggadottir (Iceland) AND BREATHE NORMALLY is Uggadottir’s first feature film.
