When three-year-old Kun gets a baby sister, his world starts to fall apart. Frustrated that he is no longer his parents’ primary concern, he escapes into a fantasy world where he encounters a future version of his sister who’s travelled back in time to teach her brother a thing or two about how to treat other people. With his new film director Mamoru Hosoda (WOLF CHILDREN) once again displays his talent for combining supernatural elements with earnest human drama. MIRAI is a playful and irresistibly charming tale of growing up.
