Roy Cohn (1927–1986) was the type of lawyer who gives the profession a bad name. As Joseph McCarthy’s right hand man, he was central in the persecution of American communists and the less-known blackmailing and mass-firings of homosexuals in the 1950s. In addition to this, he also served as a mentor of sorts to a young Donald Trump. WHERE’S MY ROY COHN is a portrait of a particularly odious figure in US politics and a damning examination of a tradition of corruption, harassment and abuse of power which is woven into the fabric of American society.
