THE HUMAN SHELTER is a film about homes. By showing us very different houses, cabins, apartments and other structures – from “floating” houses in Lagos to tents in an Iraqi refugee camp and six cramped square meters in Tokyo – director Boris Bertram explores the big and small details that make a dwelling into a home. This poetic and beautifully shot documentary is an original and highly relatable look at what is perhaps the most fundamental principle of architecture.
