ECHO is a cinematic Christmas card from Iceland – or rather 56 Christmas cards from Iceland. Consisting of memorable stand-alone scenes that take place around Christmas, the film captures the unique atmosphere that descends upon the island nation during the long winter nights. With hints of Nordic filmmakers such as Ruben Östlund and Roy Andersson, this is a funny, melancholy and poetic hybrid of documentary and fiction from the director of VOLCANO (BIFF 2012) and SPARROWS.
