Leprosy is God's punishment according to the Old Testament, and being exiled from one's community is extra difficult for the ones afflicted with the disease. When Julienne became sick with leprosy, her husband followed her to one of the world's largest colonies for lepers, run by Norwegian deaconesses. Julienne's husband left her there, and told her that he would divorce her.
Medications helped Julienne become free of her symptoms, but deformed hands and feed can't be cured by medication. Her husband returns when he hears that she is well again. But what does Julienne answer her husband who left her because of her illness?
