An uplifting musical documentary about an incredibly ambitious environmental project

In THE GREAT GREEN WALL, we join musician and activist Inna Modja on her 8,000 kilometer journey through the Sahel region, where 21 African nations are constructing a continent-wide wall of vegetation to combat desertification and climate change. Along the way, she interviews people from all walks of life about the complex ways in which their lives are impacted by vegetation and agriculture. Featuring a series of musical collaborations between Modja and local musicians, this is a hopeful documentary about the fight for a better tomorrow.

This film can be streamed on BIFF+ 12–31 October 2020. Limited amount of rentals on BIFF+.
