Fed up with her abusive German boyfriend, Wessi flies back to her native Mongolia to live with her sister’s family on the steppes. However, she quickly discovers that she is as much of an outsider here as in Europe and that there are no shortcuts in the search for belonging and identity. Filmed against the majestic backdrop of the Mongolian plains, BLACK MILK is a visually striking drama about a woman torn between two cultures, filled with fascinating contrasts, bewitching dream sequences and refreshing perspectives on gender equality.
