Since the 60s, Einar Økland has been a prolific poet, playwright, essayist, children’s author and critic. In this candid documentary he looks back at a long career and sheds light on the people and events that have defined his life and writing – from childhood to the scene around the seminal literary journal “Profil” and the political issues that would define many of his personal and professional relationships. This is an intimate and open-hearted film which expands and illuminates a unique body of work.
At the Monday 12 October screening: Meet Einar Økland in conversation with Jan H. Landro. The talk will be in Norwegian. The talk is in collaboration with Nynorsk kultursentrum.
