BIFF 2020: 23. september - 1. oktober

DOC.STREAM CZE/NOR brings together Czech and Norwegian film professionals, opens new ways for cooperation, promotes documentary filmmaking of both countries and provides new impulses for national documentary environment. The programme “Family relations as seen through the lens of Czech filmmakers” is a part of the DOC.STREAM CZE/NOR - project organized by Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, in collaboration with BIFF and Vestnorsk filmsenter.

The programme features films which in different ways deal with family relations – the struggle to keep together or not being able to – and includes A LOW-LEVEL FLIGHT (Jan Šikl, 2006), ALWAYS TOGETHER (Eva Tomanová, 2014), INTO THE CLOUDS WE GAZE (Martin Dušek, 2014), DANIEL’S WORLD (Veronika Lišková, 2014) and JENICA & PERLA (Rozálie Kohoutová, 2014).

The short film MAT GOC (Duzan Duong, 2014, 19 min) will be screened with INTO THE CLOUDS WE GAZE.

We are very pleased to introduce this selection of Czech documentaries at BIFF as well as we are looking forward to presenting a selection of Norwegian documentary films at Jihlava IDFF in October 2015. We would also like to invite you to see the best of the latest Czech documentary filmmaking during the Echoes of Jihlava IDFF, which will take place at the beginning of 2016 in Bergen.
