Volunteer roles

Cinema Host: As a Cinema Host volunteer you are the person the guests interact with the most. You are responsible for access control and clearing the theatres, information and assist with school screenings. This is the group we need the most volunteers.

VR Host: As an VR Host volunteer you are the one the public will interact with during their visits to the BIFF Expanded exhibition. You are in charge of helping them with the VR gear as well as keeping the experience enjoyable and organized when there are a lot of people.

Shift Manager: Do you like responsibility and building a good team? The shift manager is responsible for the volunteers at Magnus Barfot and is the communication link between the venue and the volunteer coordinator. Here you have an overview of what's going on in the venue when it comes to screenings and Q&As.

Information Services: Do you enjoy chatting with people? Every year, BIFF has an information stand on Magnus Barfot. Here you will be available to answer questions from the public, volunteers, press and guests and then pass them on to the right channels within the organization. You can also recommend movies to the audience coming in to get movie tips. The position requires that you are service minded and independence and have good language skills. This year we will also have a stand at Flesland Airport, where you can be a part of hospitality team - greet our guest, help them find their way to public transport means and spread information about the festival.

Accreditation: The main task is to accommodate participants and festival guests by distributing accreditation folders, communicating information and service. You are one of the first people they meet at the festival, so you should enjoy communicating with people. It is desirable that you know all the venues and have good language skills.

Driver: Are you service minded, have a driver's licence and familiar in Bergen? As a driver, the main task is to drive guests as well as various deliveries to and from the festival's various venues. Here is a prerequisite that you can provide good service and help with luggage and pick up and drop-off.

Runner: Are you versatile and have enjoy working with social media? Your main job is to be available for tasks that occur along the way during the shift. There is a great variety in both work and workload. This is a varied, and sometimes challenging job. If you enjoy working with social media, there may be opportunities to do this.

Distribution: Do you have a good knowledge of Bergen and enjoy walking? The job is to hang up posters, hand out flyers and festival catalogues around the city, both before and during the festival. This is a job that requires working several days, but not a certain amount of hours per day. If you wish you can finish before the festival begins.

Photographer: As there are many exciting things going on during the festival we want to document this. It's an advantage if you are interested in social media because we want to share the great moments with the audience. For this job you will need your own camera.

Practical production: This is a job for people who enjoy a variation in volunteering experiences. It includes rigging before and after the festival, rigging events and parties. You will be our team during the festival working at different parties hosted by BIFF. It is a plus if you have a driver's licence.
